I started a dress making course in January so I decided to put some of my new skills into practice. I expressed an interest in altering/ recycling clothes at work and one of my lovely colleagues offered to let me transform something of hers. She picked out some clothes she hadn't worn for various reasons and I decided I wanted to work on the dress shown above. The dress was loosely fitting and unflattering on her torso so I decided I would make it into a skirt. I cut the top of the dress, left enough room for a waistband, ironed some interfacing onto the material, sewed it all together and here it is...
